Agay and Saint Exupery

The great pilot and writer, Antoine de Saint Exupéry (1900-1944), stayed with his sister, Gabrielle d’Agay at château d’Agay. He got married there in 1932 with Consuelo Suncin and spent his last european Christmas there in 1940. A fountain dedicated to Le Petit Prince stands a few steps away from résidence Agathos as a tribute to this immortal book, translated into more than 180 languages, and a plaque on Baumette Lighthouse pays tribute to this aviator who died for France on the 31st july 1944.
